{Orange, Black + White}

Happy Halloween! I don't know about you, but Halloween always brings out the kid in me. Halloween, for me, brings back so many memories... I remember dressing up in my mom's handmade costumes year after year. I remember running around my old neighborhood with glow sticks in hand, and most of all I remember coming home with a pillowcase full chocolate & sugary goodness! This board is for all of those who are considering having a Halloween wedding! In my design, I incorporated all of the fun Halloween motifts. {continued...}

Pumpkins + BOO
Starting out, I knew I wanted the board to feel fun & festive but at the same I wanted there to be an element of sophistication. Some of my favorite ideas in this board include the mashed BOO-tatoes paired with the little carrot pumpkins! How cute are those? In addition, I really love the spooky chandelier and the incorporation of the silhouettes! And check out that dessert display! Candy corn, caramel apples and Halloween treats never looked so good! I'll be dressing up my little man tonight for Halloween! He's going as Peter Pan! So tell me, what will you be getting into?

{Color Your Wedding Beautiful}: Chartreuse, Gray + White

October 26, 2011 / 50 Comments
Chartreuse has long been a favorite color of mine. I guess you could say it's always been one of my ''go-to'' colors for so many things. Why has it always been a favorite of mine, you ask? Well, to me chartreuse is just a color you don't see all of the time. It's bright and vibrant and definitely has a very celebratory feeling associated with it. Plus I just think it is a wonderful color that is often overlooked when it comes to events and weddings. I love this color for Spring or Summer, but I definitely can see this palette looking fabulous for Fall too...

1. pretty bride 2. fashion clutch 3. florals 4. newlyweds

So what do you think about the color chartreuse? Are you a fan? Do you own anything that is this color? And most importantly, might you consider a color like this for your upcoming wedding? I hope that you won't overlook this amazing color. Here I'm showing it with shades of gray and white. Such a sophisticated look with all kinds of potential if you ask me!

{Blooms}: A Fall Palette of Orange, Coral, Yellow, Soft Green + Gray

This past weekend we went on our annual trip to the North Georgia mountains to enjoy some Fall fun! Going to the pumpkin patch has got to be one of my favorite things to do during the Fall! Especially now that we have a little one in tow! It was just so nice to enjoy the Fall foliage and spend some time with my family. And of course, being the color lover that I am, I got to thinking about Fall and what color palettes would be amazing for the season. Admittedly, when I came across this bouquet the other day I haven't been able to get it out of my mind.

It's vibrant with orange and coral ... and yet, there's a really subtle variation of grays and soft greens here that blend so nicely, so effortlessly. I think this is a palette that would look incredible for Fall... and even Summer or Spring. There is just so much you could do with this! I'm imagining bridesmaids dressed in gray holding these beautiful vibrant bouquets. What an amazing contrast that would be! I love everything about these colors. I love the fact that they are exuding so much fun. And most importantly, I love that they are a tad different. So what do you think? Are you loving these colors as much as I am?

{Fall Palettes} + Our Wedding Anniversary!

October 24, 2011 / 47 Comments
When it comes to Fall weddings, there really are so many color palettes that just work. Whether you tend to like the more traditional colors or whether you like the more unique palettes, one thing is for sure... Fall definitely is a season that allows for a lot of creativity. Perhaps, that's why I decided to get married in the Fall? Today is actually a very special day for my husband and I... It's our 2 year anniversary today! October 24th, 2009 we said 'I do' up in the North Georgia mountains and we've been having fun ever since! Is it bad that it feels a lot longer than that? I suppose that's what happens when you have a baby by your 1st anniversary :) So tell me... what colors for Fall are you loving this year?

I for one always loved this cranberry palette. Camel makes for a lovely neutral and blends so nicely when cranberry, I think.

However, if you're a yellow lover like I am, you might be finding yourself having a little love affair with yellow and gray? I, myself had the same love affair and almost used this very palette for our wedding day!

Or maybe you're a traditionalist when it comes to Fall colors. You love the vibrant, bold colors like burnt orange and chocolate...

Navy blue offers a different option and I think when combined with antique gold and white, something really unexpected happens. I love how this board evokes a sense of Fall without overdoing things! Or perhaps you're in love with shades of gold combined with latte? I've always thought this palette was perfect for Fall because these colors make it so easy to create that rustic charm that everyone loves and adores!

Whatever colors you find yourself gravitating towards this season, one thing is for sure... you won't be at a shortage for choices! Be sure to check out our 'Palette Library' if you're still on the hunt! Oh, and in case you're wondering... me and the hubby are going on a special date tonight to celebrate our anniversary followed by the much anticipated devouring of our anniversary cake that we ordered from the same bakery who made our actual wedding cake. We. cannot. wait! To put it simply, this cake is life changing! Happy Monday, ALL!

{Glitz + Glam}: A Palette of Latte, Antique Gold, Silver + Ivory

October 21, 2011 / 39 Comments

{Latte, Antique Gold, Silver + Ivory}

When it comes to metallics, nothing makes me happier than to see a palette that incorporates them in such a soft and lovely way. Today's palette comes to us by request and I cannot be more pleased with how these colors are working off of one another. When it comes to Fall and even Winter weddings I often times hear that brides are tired of the traditional Fall colors that we so often see. And although I'll always be a huge fan of the traditional Fall colors, I think there's really something to be said about experimenting with your palette and trying to find colors that you might not necessary see every day. Metallics have always felt special to me and so when I came across these creative ideas I was very excited.

Details We Love
Lovely Wreath + Bridal Fashion
I think what really works here is that there is a certain softness that's being acheived through the fabric of the gowns as well as the accessories...like that ostrich feathered clutch, for instance. And then those softer elements are being complimented with some contrasting colors as well as textures. I'm loving the wreath and it's simple presentation and I can definitely imagine wreaths like those being hung on church doors or even in a reception space. So tell me, what colors are you finding yourself gravitating towards this season?
