{Party Palette}: Ocean Inspired!

April 29, 2013 / 12 Comments
Happy Monday, friends! So maybe you remember me mentioning that I would be heading to the beach for a little rest and relaxation? Well, the time has come and I can hardly believe that come Friday I will be returning to our favorite little beach spot. An entire week of sand between my toes? And fruity cocktails in hand? Mark me down for a yes! Oh, but wait. It gets better! The house we're staying in is actually oceanfront. Yes, the Atlantic ocean will be in my backyard for an entire week! Ahhh, this is so overdue. Someone pinch me. No seriously.

Ocean inspired hues have always taken me somewhere dreamy. I don't know what it is, but shades of blue are so relaxing and definitely calming. That's why I say yes to shades of blue especially for an ocean inspired wedding or party. Looking for a way to create a beautiful visual? Why not dress your bridesmaids in shades of one color like I've shown here? It's a pretty way to capture a color palette and it's so easy to pull together! So tell me, does anyone else have a beach in their near future? And if so... where are you going?

It's bright and punchy and definitely the sort of palette that would turn any wedding guest's head (in a good way of course!)

What happens when you combine gorgeous florals like these with a pretty purple palette? All kinds of lovely things. That's what! And with stationery from our friends over at Ruby and Willow and handcrafted clutches from Allisa Jacobs, make no mistake about it... this palette has serious party planning potential! Vibrant purple pairs effortlessly with gorgeous gray and a little pop of raspberry! So tell me... What sort other ideas would you incorporate into this look?

{Party Palette}: Shades of Orange + Gray

April 8, 2013 / 20 Comments
So if you've been reading my blog for any time you might recall that I was an orange bride myself. So I think it's safe to say that I'm definitely a huge fan of the color! Back in 2009, gray was just emerging as the new ''it'' neutral for weddings. And although I didn't end up using gray in my palette, I definitely wish I could have a few more weddings (same guy of course) so that I could style my wedding in every color palette imaginable! I love the idea of pairing shades of orange with gray for many reasons. But mostly, I love how these colors seem to balance each other out so well.

Orange is fun and exciting and just bursting with energy, while gray takes a more somber approach with it's cool undertones. What I also love about this palette is that you can surely use it for any season. But I especially love it for Spring and Summer! So what do you think? Might you have a little love for this party palette?
