What happens when the Bride’s mom is a wedding planner? All kinds of amazingness, that's what! I just love the way that this couple mixed their love for bright, bold color with all of the splendor that autumn has to offer!
With a vision that combined her daughter's love for Kate Spade with creative nods to the fall season,
McPherson Events & Design designed this darling “Fall in Love” engagement party for their daughter and their soon-to-be son-in-law. And goodness! I can hardly begin to explain my love for this! But let me try, okay?
On a crisp October day, this sweet and intimate engagement party came to life! They coupled the festivities with a late afternoon dinner with family followed by a bonfire party with close friends later in the evening. And lucky for us,
Cannon Candids Photography was there to capture all of the pretty!
Kate Spade pink, pumpkin orange, and chocolate brown made for the perfect palette!
Two invitation designs were created: a more traditional floral motif for the family invitation and modern, bold stripes for the friend invitation.
Confetti and glassine envelopes finished off their mailings while the watercolor flowers and a fun freehand font were utilized again for paper goods at the party.
Bales of hay were set up around a bonfire for everyone to gather around!
Guests were also invited to visit the cigar bar. However, the cigars were almost too perfect to touch with customized cigar bands and match books.
Um did someone say a cigar bar? Yes, please!
And these colors? So completely perfect, if you ask me!
McPherson Events & Design just knew that the ideal place for this celebration was their very own backyard in their century old barn...and boy were they ever so right!
Rose gold married the rustic charm of the natural wood barn to the elegance of their inspiration.
The metallic hue was mirrored on a salvaged hutch for liquor shelves, candle stick holders, dessert stands....
Not to mention the darling letters that were handcrafted by the Father of the Bride that were prominently displayed on the barn walls!
Some of the tiny flowers in the antique glass bottles were even from their garden.
A New England Clambake was catered for the family. Outside, the clam pots hissed and steamed. The grill sizzled with steaks and chicken.
Inside, the family socialized and noshed on local charcuterie and appetizers.
They also visited the pink and rose gold bar for hot apple cider, pumpkin ale, and mixed drinks.
The family party ended with a delicious dessert bar full of pies, doughnuts and homemade cookies, some even shaped as diamond engagement rings.
Seasonal foliage of oak leaves, cotinus, agonis, and leucadendron enhanced the color palette in the vintage containers.
Custom “Fall in Love” napkins, menu signs and food tags accessorized the tables.
Kevin and Megan’s friends arrived just after sunset.
To the bar? Don't have to tell me twice!
I just love this mix of bright, bold color and seasonal pretties!
And how clever is the incorporation of this plaid which was actually a nod to Megan's Scottish heritage?
So absolutely gorgeous, if you ask me!
Pumpkins big and small and candles added fall flare.
So vibrant and beautiful!
Pumpkin, plaid, and pretty flowers, oh my!
Pink and chocolate brown table runners were designed and added a pop of color.
Such a gorgeous setting for a fall engagement party with plaid, pumpkins, and vintage items!
The Mother of the Bride arranged lush, organic floral displays with bright hues of brilliant orange roses, autumn hypericum and wax flowers along with hot pink gerbera daisies.
Overhead, there was fun chandelier with cafe lights! And I just love the reclaimed wood farm tables and chairs provided by Borrow Vintage & Eclectic Rentals!

The s’more bar was packed with chocolates and favorite s’more ingredients perfectly displayed in glass containers on vintage furniture.
How romantic for Megan to "fall in love" with Kevin, her Prince Charming! It was an amazing autumn day for the couple to share their engagement with family and close friends! Their best day ever is yet to come.
Huge hugs and high fives go out to our Pro Guide Vendor,
McPherson Events & Design who clearly put so much heart into making this a very special and memorable occasion. One that the couple will surely cherish for years to come!
