Party Palette | Rose Gold

February 28, 2014
Ever wonder what happens when you pair the prettiest shades of pink with the most gorgeous antique gold shade you can find? Something crazy beautiful, that's what. Looking for an elegant bridesmaid look that you're girlfriends will feel beautiful in? I happen to really like this mix of fabrics! I think it's the textures that have me excited! And these colors? Yeah, I'm just going to let you take this in for a second.

I don't think it's any secret that I've never shied away from a little shimmer. And why on earth would I? Just one look at this pretty rose gold inspired palette and it's easy to see that there's something kind of special going on here. Wouldn't you agree? I mean, maybe it's just me, but I don't think you can go wrong when you mix rose gold, blushy pinks, a touch of antique gold and the softness of white. Are you a fan? And if so, what other ideas might you incorporate to make it yours? I have a couple of ideas up my sleeves, but more than anything, I'd love to hear yours!

Macy's | Registry Must-Haves!

So today I'm excited to bring you my third installment in the series I've been putting together in partnership with our friends over at Macy's! You see, I've been asked to put together a list of my personal recommendations and registry must-haves! And boy have I been having fun!

And as a reminder, these recommendations will be items that were on our actual registry or they're things I wish we would have included. So without further ado, here's the third of my registry must-haves!

Cozy bedding. Need I say more? I'm especially loving this dreamy set by Calvin Klein! The colors, the prints, the fact that it's not overly feminine in style? Yep, this set would have totally been on my registry a couple of years back!

Because what's not to love? I love that this Calvin Klein Pacific Comforter and Duvet Cover Set is sort of modern with it's botanical print. And how luxurious are those big, comfy pillows? I say, make your bedroom your sanctuary.

Set includes comforter or duvet cover and sham. Complete the look with coordinating sheet set, European sham, bedskirt, coverlet and decorative pillows. And lucky for you, you can easily add this set to your Macy's Registry! Don't have a registry with Macy's yet? No worries. Registering is easy! Simply follow {this link} and you're good to go!

Now Trending: Grayed Jade and Dusty Teal Wedding Ideas

February 26, 2014
I’m popping in a little late with today’s post – a romantic grayed jade and dusty teal inspiration for your Wednesday morning. Pretty, polished and perfectly coordinated, these are the sort of colors that get me inspired.

There's a very romantic feel to this palette. Wouldn't you agree? But at the same time these colors are so calming. They're the sort of colors that take you someplace dreamy. And for that reason alone I'm sure this will continue to be a color that we'll be seeing a lot more of in weddings for 2014.

Remember when I said Grayed Jade would be big this year? Well, here's a perfect example of how to incorporate this perfectly pretty color into your big day. Dusty teal and grayed jade were just meant to go hand in hand. Wouldn't you agree?

And with colors as pretty as these, it's easy to evoke that dreamy and ethereal look that we all have grown to know and love. Want to get the look? Be sure to check out these hand selected pretties chosen by yours truly!

Real Wedding | Claire and Michael

February 25, 2014

Confession. I'm a total sucker for Southern weddings! And so when I received this submission filled with classic details, fabulous florals and monograms galore you can only imagine my excitement! A Tennessee wedding at an old train depot? Mark me down for a Yes! Seriously, though, Claire and Michael's wedding day was absolutely beautiful. They were surrounded by family and friends and all kinds of prettiness thanks to Jennifer of Jennifer Laraia Designs. And lucky for us Watson-Studios was there to capture every special moment.

What a honest to goodness gorgeous wedding. One of my favorite details would definitely be the light-up letters that spelled out their new married name, “Sullivan.” They looked so pretty outside the depot, all lit up at night. Oh, and did you notice how Michael changed from the classic black jacket into a white dinner jacket for the reception? Who says that costume changes are only for the ladies? I really love this idea and it definitely evokes a very classic southern feel.

Michael and Claire had a calligrapher create their wedding monogram, which they used on everything from our invitations to napkins. From the farm style tables to the lace linens, every detail was carefully executed. I also love that cigars were stationed around the Depot on top of old whiskey barrels. Such a celebratory touch.

And did you notice those blooms? How could you not? I'm sorry but I am just having an absolute love affair with peonies and hydrangeas here lately, so it's really exciting to see that Claire incorporated those into her floral design. The soft colors and textures helped create a romantic setting at the old train depot in the middle of downtown Knoxville. Oh, and just because this wedding is full of classic, southern details don't think for a second that they forgot to throw in a few fun details!

Their cake was actually a Funfetti cake (Claire and Michael's favorite kind of cake) and in addition to cake, they also had a snow cone truck pull up and serve late night treats. And those gigantic balloons? Did you see those balloons? It doesn't get anymore fun than that!
