{Pantone Palette}: Bright Marigold 15-1164

February 27, 2013 / 16 Comments
To me, the happiest colors are the kind that make you feel like kicking off your heels and dancing. Bright, cheery and full of feel good vibes, Pantone's Bright Marigold really is something to be celebrated. Add in pinches of sunshine yellow like I have displayed here and you'll be sure to have a fun-filled fete. Want to instantly create a super fun atmosphere perfect for a party? Why not add in a splash of bright marigold? I absolutely love this color for both Spring and Summer parties. And I hope you can see why!

There's something so uplifting and exciting about this color. I love how lanterns were used above the reception tables to add a pop of color and to create a whimsical atmosphere. Looking for a way to keep things festive? I suggest incorporating fun patterns like polka dots and stripes! Oh, and why not serve up sweet Summer treats like these? Nothing like a little childhood nostalgia to make you feel all giddy inside. So what do you think? Are you liking how this fun shade of orange is making you feel?

{Happy Valentine's Day}: Love, Chrissy

February 14, 2013 / 10 Comments
Well hello there, lovelies! And Happy Valentine's Day to you! Just wanted to pop in to share a little sweet (and sappy) v-day inspiration with you all. What's red and pink and full of love? This little post is, that's what! No, but seriously... If you want to know the truth, I have to admit that I'm absolutely in love with the idea of taking one day out of the year to really celebrate love.

Do I also think it's important to celebrate daily? Yes of course! But there's also something pretty special about taking a day to really cherish the love you have in your life. And it doesn't just have to be your significant other! It could be your parents, your siblings, your girlfriends or even a best friend...

Today, I'm also reminded about how lucky I truly am! Because this year I have not one, but four Valentines to love! Four! My hubby, my 2.5 year old son and our 6 month old twin girls. Gosh, that's a lot of love! Thinking back to Valentine's Day in the past, it's sort of crazy to think that I often celebrated Valentine's Day alone. And now I'm absolutely surrounded by love. I guess you could say that I've been blessed in the love department!

And I'm so thankful for that. Because without my loves, I seriously wouldn't be complete. So today I invite you to really celebrate the love in your life! Oh, as if that wasn't enough celebration! Today I'm also celebrating 4 years of blogging here on the Perfect Palette! So I can't go without taking a second to remind you that your love and support means the world to me. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. Your love for what I do puts the biggest smile on my face!

{party palette}: shades of yellow + gray

February 10, 2013 / 16 Comments
Well, hello there lovelies! And good morning to you! Today I wanted to take a moment to revisit one of my all time favorite color palettes for weddings! It's funny because I can still remember when this color palette emerged as one of the hottest palettes for weddings a couple of years back. Needless to say, this color palette really made quite the splash. Most praised this palette for it's unique, modern and fresh approach to wedding colors. (me included). But some people just didn't get it. Gray bridesmaid dresses? Some people just couldn't wrap their heads around the idea. Especially some of the more traditional moms (and older generations).

Because let's face it, these wedding colors aren't your mom's wedding colors. They're surely part of a new generation of brides. Brides who love to embrace uniqueness, brides who love to do it themselves and brides who adore handmade. Today's weddings are not just about saying "I do'' anymore! A wedding has become an opportunity to throw the party of your dreams. And what better way than to infuse your personalities into the big day with colors you like most? So what do you think? Are you in the camp that loves to love this palette? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

And I think it's safe to say that my feelings for this sweet shade are only growing. Personally, I'm really loving the looks of these rosebud studs! Because who says bridesmaid attire needs to be boring? Why not have your ladies make a statement in a pretty necklace like this one? Or rock a fun stack of rings like these? So what do you think? Are you liking the looks of this fun ensemble? And if so, can you see your friends wearing something like this again? I sure would!

{party palette}: shades of mint + yellow

February 6, 2013 / 25 Comments
Happy mid-week, lovelies! What's yellow + mint and all kinds of fun? Today's palette is, that's what! I don't know about you, but these colors are giving me a serious dose of Spring fever. They're the perfect compliment to one another and I can't help but smile when I look at them together. Sweet, playful and definitely fun-filled, this happy palette makes me want to pour myself a nice tall glass of lemonade.

Mint is calming and fresh while yellow stands out as playful and perky. I love this pairing because it's a tad unexpected which means it's the perfect palette to work with when it comes to parties. I just love it when beautiful colors come together to make pretty things. And these colors are no exception. Palettes like this make me feel happy and alive. So what do you think? What sort of colors make you feel happy? Oh, and is anyone else dreaming of Spring?

{sponsored post}: simple registry

February 5, 2013 / No Comments
Registering for gifts? Congrats! I don't know about you, but registering was surely one of the more exciting things we did leading up to the big day. And although dreaming of all the things we'd need (and want) was a blast... looking back I have to admit that I wish that there was an easier way.
And guess what? There is! SimpleRegistry is changing the way engaged couples create and share their wedding registry. With cool and unique tools that make registering for gifts fun and personable, couples are creating registries that are reflective of their personalities instead of the latest inventory of the big box retail stores.
Because with SimpleRegistry, you can easily add any item from any store to one simple registry. You can even add non-tangible items, like help with a down payment on that house you’ve been eyeing, season tickets or even a donation to a favorite charity. Literally anything that can be thought up can be added to a registry. Pretty amazing. Am I right?

And guess what? Setup is Easy (and fun). Customizing a registry is simple with purpose-built tools like the SimpleAdder that makes adding any item from any website possible with just one-click. Or the free Mobile App which enables you to scan barcodes or snap a photo of anything and add it to the registry.

Want to know what I love most? That would surely be the fact that all gifts are redeemed as cash. Yep, that's right! When the wedding is over all gifts are redeemed directly as cash for the ultimate in flexibility. Newer model of that camera since the registry was created? Different color of that blender desired? No problem! Just let SimpleRegistry know when you're ready to receive your gifts and they send you a check or deposit funds directly to your checking or PayPal account.

So what are you waiting for? Hustle on over to SimpleRegistry and start dreaming of all the possibilities. Because with SimpleRegistry they really are endless. Oh, and be sure to head over soon because one lucky couple will receive a $5,000 credit toward their registry on SimpleRegistry if they register between 1/1/13 and 4/30/13!
