{pantone palette}: harvest gold 16-0946

September 21, 2012 / 19 Comments
Well, hello there friends! And happy Friday! Who has two thumbs and is beyond excited that tomorrow is the first official day of Fall? This girl. You see, if you've been reading the Perfect Palette for any length of time then you realize how much I truly love the season. Needless to say, I've gone ahead and started decorating for the season! I've hung our wreath on our front door and I've even started burning my favorite banana bread candle. So today I thought it would be fun to put together a color palette that celebrates another one of my favorite Pantone colors. Harvest Gold 16-0946!

Harvest Gold is a color I've long loved for the season... Because honestly there truly are so many ways you can incorporate glittery gold goodness into your wedding day. Am I right? Glitter pumpkins, gold leaf wreathes and sparkly bridesmaid dresses? Just because you're having a Fall wedding doesn't mean you're stuck using burnt orange and chocolate brown. Metallic colors like gold are perfect for communicating elegance and romance. Gold is definitely making a come back! So tell me...are you as excited about the first day of Fall as I am?

{slightly obsessed}: shades of ruby red + gold

September 19, 2012 / 24 Comments
I’m slightly obsessed with this color palette right now. Vibrant, saturated shades of bold red paired with soft shades of brown and antique gold? It’s so perfectly fun and a seriously festive look for any late Summer or early Fall wedding. This is the sort of palette that pretty parties are made of. Please tell me...what's not to love about these centerpieces? They're bursting with happiness and feel good vibes.

I don't know about you, but I'm really liking that little camel colored dress and that perky pair of ruby red heels! What a fun contrast! Rich, elegant and radiating with warmth, these cozy colors are the kind that inspire me. Oh, and I'm loving these monogrammed bridesmaid necklaces! What better way to say thank you than with a thoughtful gift like this. Incorporate stripes and polka dots into your party...and what do you have? A fun and exciting look that's full of fun and excitement. So tell me.. are you slightly obsessed?

{sponsored post}: perfect circle™ jewelry insurance by jewelers mutual

September 18, 2012 / 12 Comments

It’s no surprise that people bring jewelry with them on their vacations. Jewelry is part of who you are! You want to wear it while traveling, not leave it behind. But have you ever found yourself worrying about whether your precious jewels will be safe while traveling?

Well, you’re not alone, my friends! Because I’ll be honest with you, I remember feeling the same way when I was preparing to go on my honeymoon. But not to fret, all of you travel lovers out there! I’m here to tell you that bringing along your jewelry on vacation is fine, you just want to be sure to take some extra precautions to ensure its safety! So whether you’re a jet-setter or weekend road-tripper, here are some helpful safety tips from my travel-savvy friends over at Perfect Circle™ Jewelry Insurance by Jewelers Mutual.

1. Choose wisely. Pack light and take only the jewelry you’ll wear while traveling and at your destination. The 4-carat diamond ring you save for special occasions? Probably not. The pearls that go with everything? Definitely.

2. Make a list. List all the jewelry you’ll take with you. Make two copies. Take one copy with you and store it separately from your jewelry. Leave the other copy at home. Also helpful: take pictures or a video of your jewelry.

3. Carry it on. Never put jewelry in checked bags. Instead, wear it or stow it in your carry-on bag. If you wear it, take extra care by slipping a pendant inside a sweater or turning your ring so only the band shows.

4. Keep it with you. Put your jewelry in a favorite bag you’ll carry while traveling. Don’t leave your jewelry in an unattended car or suitcase. When checking into your hotel or condo, don’t hand your jewelry bag to hotel staff. Carry it personally.

5. Use the safe. Always store jewelry in the in-room safe when you’re not wearing it.

6. Insure it right. Perfect Circle™ Jewelry Insurance by Jewelers Mutual expertly insures your personal jewelry against loss, damage, theft and mysterious disappearance wherever your travels take you, worldwide. So get the right insurance. Then relax and have fun.

So whether it’s your engagement ring or the diamond studs you inherited from your grandmother, this nearly 100-year-old company is passionate about protecting the items most precious to you. Their caring customer care representatives work with you to provide your valuable jewelry the care and protection they warrant both at home and while traveling anywhere in the world. For more tips on how to keep your jewelry safe while traveling, be sure to visit Perfect Circle™ Jewelry Insurance by Jewelers Mutual.

Also I can't go without mentioning the amazing giveaway brought to you by the personal jewelry insurance brand, Perfect Circle™ Jewelry Insurance ( a product of Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company) and Jewelers for Children! For five weeks straight they’ve been sending people on a treasure hunt through their website for a chance to win jewelry that supports children in need! {Pantone Palette}: Porcelain Rose 17-1643

September 3, 2012 / 15 Comments
Hi there and Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Today I'm kicking off the week with a new series that I hope you'll think is fun! If you're a color lover like I am, I'm sure you've heard of our friends over at Pantone! With a color system that takes into account virtually every shade imaginable, Pantone truly is one of my favorite go-to color resources. So I thought, why not create a series of wedding palettes that feature some of my favorite Pantone colors?

Porcelain Rose has to be one of the prettiest shades of pink I ever did see. I'm smitten with it's sweet demeanor and it's ultra girly undertones. A romantic hue with all kinds of party planning potential, porcelain rose had me at hello. Because what's not to love? It's a sultry shade that mixes well with crisp white or even neutrals like gray tones. So what do you think? Are you as in love as I am with this sweet shade of pink?

{Paper Source}: Colorscope!

September 1, 2012 / 13 Comments
Seeing that color is at the heart of this site, I have to admit that when I first found this color chart a few years back I was instantly smitten. Because what's not to love about finding out what your favorite colors say about you? I've always loved the idea that there is meaning behind the colors that you're attracted to! My only issue with this little exercise is that I think I have an appreciation for so many colors - that it's tough to narrow down my favorites! But at first glance, I'm really liking curry, peacock, papaya and fig! But ask me again next week and I'm sure I'd have a different answer! As for whether the descriptions ring true - aside from a few little things, I would definitely say that they have my personally pegged!

So tell me....are you seeing any of your favorite colors featured here? And if so...does the description match your personality? Thanks to our friends over at Paper Source for creating such a fun color chart!
