{Summer Lovin'}: A Palette of Shades of Yellow, Gray + White

{Shades of Yellow, Gray + White}

The unofficial start of Summer has arrived. And although Summer doesn't really start until June 21st, I'm definitely in a Summer state of mind. My Summer memories are definitely some of my favorites. Because what's not to love about Summer? Summer for me is all about sunshine, carefree fun and laying by the pool. Summer also has a way of reminding me of my childhood. I have such vivid memories. I remember riding bikes with my friends all day long - only stopping for the occasional snack. Popisicles were definitely my snack of choice. Remember when your only care in the world was trying to avoid losing half of your popsicle? Man, those suckers melted quickly! Am I right, or am I right? Oh, and who could forget the sounds of music streaming throughout the neighborhood? The sound of none other than the ice cream truck. Aw, those were the days! {continued...}

Why not include some of your own childhood summer memories into your wedding day? Gray and yellow are the perfect colors to capture this carefree, fun-loving vibe. To convey some Summer fun, I decided to include the ideas of popsicles and bicycles into the wedding styling. I absolutely love the popsicle display featured here. Such a fun idea! What you should take away from this is that incorporating things that are meaningful to you and your fiance will make your wedding all the more special. Oh, and who is not loving the looks of these groomsmen? I seriously heart their yellow ties. Definitely a charming look! So what do you think about this palette of yellow + gray? Anyone considering using it at your upcoming wedding?

{Happy Memorial Day}: A Patriotic Palette of Red, Shades of Blue, Gray + White

{Red, Navy Blue, Slate Blue, Gray + White}

This weekend is Memorial day weekend. A time to remember, a time to celebrate and a time to take pause out of our busy lives to give thanks. This weekend also marks the unofficial beginning of Summer! Wahoooo! And I don't know about you, but I'm pretty psyched that Summer is almost here! So today I thought I'd put together a little Summer inspiration with subtle patriotic undertones. What's my idea of the perfect Summer? I'm thinking that my perfect Summer would consist of renting out a cottage on Cape Cod and inviting all my friends and family to join me. Oh, vacations! I think I'm definitely due for one! Anyways, that got me thinking...wouldn't a casual wedding on Cape Cod be so memorable! I'm imaging a lobster boil...a very relaxed and casual atmosphere. Of course somewhere near the water. {continued...}

Patriotic Display + Newlyweds in Love

I don't know about you, but I'm loving the sounds of this. What's not to love about fresh seafood, good company and an ocean front view? Oh, and I'm absolutely love the idea of getting your guests in the spirit by sending them lobster bib save-the-dates. That's such a fun idea, and full of personality too! It's hard not to fall in love with the sounds of this wedding! Plus, why not send your guests home with lobster-shaped lollipops? I love how this patriotic theme blends right into this nautical setting. So tell me... what's on the agenda for this weekend?

{Something Blue}: A Palette of Shades of Blue, Gray + White

{Navy Blue, Slate Blue, Powder Blue, Sky Blue, Gray + White}

Since we're nearing the official start of Summer, you might have expected me to make a nice Summer color palette. And to be honest, that was my intent starting out. But then something happened. This board took on a life of it's own. And before I knew it, I was creating a snowy palette of blues + grays. I'm sure there is someone who will appreciate it, right? I mean, it's the Winter brides who are probably up to their elbows in DIY projects...not the Summer brides. By now, any bride-to-be with a Summer wedding date has probably decided on their color palette. Or I would hope so at least! So here it is! For all you Winter brides! A delicate blend of blues and grays accented by none other than snow white. {continued...}

bottom row: doves, newlyweds in love, blueberries in a bowl, navy bridesmaid dress.

Details We LOVE
Wedding Gown + Blue Barn

There are so many things that I can say about this palette. For one, I happen to think that blue and navy blue in particular were made for Winter weddings. There is something so very elegant about the way it effortless pairs with gray and white. Plus, who could resist a snow covered blue barn? Not I! I absolutely L-O-V-E the idea of a snowy barn wedding. Assuming you can get your hands on enough heaters that is. So how are you feeling about blue these days? Anyone planning on using blue for their wedding palette? Do tell! You know I want to hear all the details! xo

{Vintage Gardens}: A Palette of Peach, Green + Ivory

{Orange, Peach, Light Green, Mint + Ivory}

There is something to be said about a color palette that is effortlessly pretty. Peach has always been one of those colors in my book. Peach comes across as light and airy and has all sorts of romantic associations. And what better color to pair peach with than shades of green? I adore how these colors {for a lack of a better word}, marry! Such a dreamy palette full of sweetness, and love. To me, this palette feels delicate + dainty. I absolutely adore the image of the teacup and saucer. I'm imagining a romantic wedding held on the grounds of a beautiful garden. Each place setting would have the finest of china with gorgeous pops of peach and green throughout. {continued...}

top row: gorgeous bouquet, simple + lovely hairstyle, teacup + saucer, bridal style,
middle row: seaside, peach earrings, calligraphy, peach clutch, handmade necklace,
bottom row: romantic chiffon dress, lovely centerpiece, bridesmaid dresses, cocktail.

Details We Love
Hairstyle + Teacup n' Saucer!
I guess I've always been sort of in love with the idea of having custom china flown in for a wedding. Special china. You know, the kind that has gorgeous ornate floral patterns? Something that feels a tad vintage. And although it's seemingly more reasonable to simply use what is provided by your venue, it's a fun idea I think. Especially if you have the extra money to blow on something frivolous. I, for one, love weddings that exude and aura of simple elegance. I'm also adoring this bride's hairstyle! So fun and whimsical. And a little messy even! So what do you think? Do you fancy this peach and green palette like I do?
