Guest Blogger: {Brenda's Wedding Blog} - A Rustic Sunflower Wedding with Gingham

Hi everyone. I'm Brenda from Brenda's Wedding Blog and I'm so happy to be joining Chrissy on her blog today as she enjoys her vacation and some time away from the computer with her family. Hoping she's having a wonderful time at the beach and the water. This inspiration board is extra special for me as I just celebrated my 9th wedding anniversary this week. Wow, how is that even possible? {continued...}

Something that I love to do each year is to create a new inspiration board based on our wedding theme which was sunflowers. This flower always makes me smile and feel happy - just like the surprise sunflower growing in our front flowerbed - think a bird left us an early anniversary gift :) Our original wedding colors were yellow and navy blue. This year I wanted to mix it up completely and if we were getting married in 2011, I have a feeling I'd go a bit more rustic and introduce more red into the palette with yellow and brown.

I just love the addition of the gingham pattern and I would most definitely be having a cookie bar and cupcakes - no wedding cake. Of course that could be because our wedding cake was missing the raspberry filling it should of had, so I figure it'd be best to go a different route this time :) Since we had a close intimate wedding with close family and friends - I might even consider having my family bring their favorite cookies to be a part of the cookie bar. I love the idea of having your guests become more of a part of your wedding.
