{Pinecones + Pretties}: A Palette of Cool Blues + Warm Browns

August 2, 2011

{Chocolate Brown, Slate Blue, Powder Blue, Camel, Gray + White}

Well, hello there my sweet, color loving friends. And how are you doing on this glorious Tuesday? Thanks so much for all of the love and support yesterday what with my big announcement of the new domain! It's definitely been an exciting few days for me and I just can't wait to share with you all that is to come. Today, however, I have a little Winter inspiration for you. I don't know about you, but I'm loving this color palette of cool blues and warm browns. That's why when bride-to-be, Rebecca wrote to me with this pretty little palette in mind, I could not wait to put some ideas together for her {continued...}

{top row}: little winter bride, handcrafted wooden table numbers, hot chocolate,
{middle row}: pinecone placecards with handcrafted plaid tablecloth,
{bottom row}: pinecone bouquet, winter chapel, winter bride in the snow, pinecone.

Details We Love
Hot Chocolate Display + Little Winter Bride
Anyone else love the idea of taking wedding photos in a snowy landscape? Sure, it would be chilly but hey..it would beat this heat wave we're all experiencing. I guess there's just something so very cozy about these colors to me. It's a palette that exudes a timeless feel and one that is full of sweet ideas.

One of the ideas I'm absolutely loving is this lovely hot chocolate display complete with miniature donuts. Can you imagine a hot chocolate bar set up at your reception? To me, it's unique ideas that will really make such a sweet and memorable statement. Oh, and who isn't loving all of these pinecone ideas? A pinecone bouquet sounds absolutely perfect for a winter wedding. And what about those rustic, handcrafted table numbers? They seem to have a way of fitting right in with this collection of Winter pretties.

Chrissy, are you stalking my brain? Because I was just eye-ing that pine cone escort card display. And if you've read my recent post, you know I love those table numbers.

My dream centerpiece actually has pine cones in it. I was thinking of keeping them but it might be way to Christmas-y with the cranberry we've discussed.

And I agree. Nothing says romance like fresh fallen snow!!

Winter photos would be pretty, expecially if the bride has one of those capes to wear outside, it would work so well, I'd love it!! Love the hot chocolates :) x

I love the photo of the bride in the snow. It's so dreamy and magical. As much as I want a summer wedding, a little part of me would love to have a winter one just so I could have a photo like that!

I am so happy for you and your new domain. I was totally stoked when I got my own, too, so I understand your excitement.

I have been dreaming about taking our wedding pictures in the snow lately. I want to wear a leather jacket with my wedding dress so badly, and I have no idea why. I blame this hot weather!

i love the more earthy colors you put together. it is really fun to see. I think of green or brown, and then I see a post like this that just expands on those and brings all the colors to life. It is really cool that you add these still among all the bright posts!

I would love a hot chocolate bar at a wedding. Especially with donuts! I don't know what it is about the two together but ever since Lady dipped hers into cocoa in Lady and the Tramp I've loved the combo ;)

Now I'm ready for Christmas!

I love this color palette. I'm originally from Poland where snowy winters and cold are part of our lives, and pine cones easy to find. I love hot chocolate on days like that, it reminds me days back in Poland with my family and friends.
