Blog Around the World: Out of Africa #11

There is so much to be said about blogging, but one of the things that I love most is being part of a blogging community where people are not only talented + creative, but also genuinely supportive. For those that may not have heard - today is a very fun day in the wedding world.

A group of some of my favorite wedding bloggers have joined together to present a scavenger hunt where each blogger is sharing a photo {or in my case two} from a photo shoot that was recently coordinated by the incredibly talented Alicia French of The Charity Wedding...

''Hello Lovelies! I am Alicia from The Charity Wedding and I am excited to present another round of Blog Around the World with some of my favorite wedding bloggers! I recently helped organized a styled shoot using the theme of a Vintage Desert Safari. Each blogger will be showcasing a photo from the shoot and sharing some tips, advice, or just some pretty-eye candy for you to enjoy! Be sure to visit all the blogs to make sure you catch all the goodness! Thanks so much to all of the participants!'

The lovely photos I chose are above + here is the inspiration I created!

Vintage Desert Safari. Has an interesting ring to it, no? You may or may not have a preconceived notion that themed weddings are all cheesy or tacky? And I don't blame you for feeling that way! Up until a few years ago I used to think that themed weddings were kind of tacky as a whole...

1. bride 2. baskets 3. bridesmaid 4. invitation 5. flatware 6. giraffe 7. floral 8. suitcase

But things have changed drastically in the past few years when it comes to incorporating themes into your wedding day. And my mind has absolutely changed when it comes to this topic. You can now incorporate a subtle theme into any event and have it turn out truly stunning. The trick is to not over-do anything! Here are my tips for incorporating themes!

{TIPS FOR INCORPORATING THEMES}
{#1}: Stay away from cliches! For instance, I stayed away from black + white zebra stripes.

{#2}: Focus on incorporating natural elements. Like florals, for instance.
{#3}: It's all about being subtle! Use color to your advantage by using subtle shades that will give your themed wedding a very timeless feel.
{#4}: Consider the venue you've chosen. Some themes just won't work in certain settings and it's important to consider that.
