David's Bridal!

David's Bridal has such a great selection of bridesmaid dresses! Whether you're looking for dresses for your destination beach wedding, or attire that will look lovely for your chapel wedding, you're bound to find both a color and a style that you will absolutely love! Have you taken a peek at all of their beautiful color options? There are so many pretty dresses to choose from! How's a bride to decide? I remember how it was...choosing your bridesmaid dresses can seem a little stressful at times...But believe me, it doesn't have to be! Here are some tips I came up with that are helpful to keep in mind while shopping!

Know Your Own Bridal Style
If you are the bride, before you even start looking at bridesmaid dresses it helps to have chosen your own wedding gown ahead of time. In addition, having a good idea of the overall look, theme & color palette you want to acheive is also important. You want to make sure that your bridesmaid dresses fit with the overall style of the wedding and complement you and your groom in all of the wedding photography.

Determine the Color & Length
Let's face it, there are so many pretty dresses that it can get overwhelming! The best thing to do is to narrow your options. Establish the color & length of the dress first, and then choose a few different styles you like. David's Bridal has a impressive selection of colors! Remember when choosing the color to consider whether it will work for each of your friends. The wrong choice could make them look washed out or a size bigger which won't make them feel very good about themselves! It’s also popular these days to have different styles for each bridesmaid in the same fabric which can be a win-win option!

Consider Your Bridesmaids
Do your friends all look alike? Important factors to consider are size, shape, age, and coloring. A dress that looks great on one girl may look hideous on another! Ask your friends if there are any styles they wouldn't feel comfortable in and take this into consideration when shopping. You want your friends to have a great time at your wedding so do your part to make sure they'll feel great in an outfit they love. Be careful, however, not to give your bridesmaids free reign or they might all want completely different styles which could create unnecessary tension. Oh, and make sure the dress you choose is affordable since often times the ladies in your wedding will be paying for their own dresses.

Fabric is important!
Don’t forget to think about fabric when you choose your dresses! If you’re having a Summer wedding you need a lighter fabric and the opposite for an Autumn or Winter wedding. Remember too that the choice of fabric teamed with the style and color can shed or add pounds to your bridesmaids so choose carefully.

Fittings and Ordering
Always get your bridesmaids professionally measured as different manufacturers will use different sizing. The last fitting when the dresses come in should be at least 3 – 4 weeks before the wedding to allow for any last minute alterations. Don’t just pick the dresses up a week before the wedding thinking it will be enough time and hoping they will fit like a glove! It’s a good idea to order all your bridesmaids dresses together to ensure that they are all cut from the same dye-lot otherwise you could end up with a slightly different color for each which will really show up on the photos.
