{Palette Love}: Navy Blue & Yellow: A Nautical Palette

February 1, 2011

Navy Blue & Yellow has long been a favorite of ours here on The Perfect Palette. There is just something about this palette! Navy blue comes across as a sophisticated and somewhat preppy color, but when paired with this bright and cheery shade of yellow, something really special happens. A perfect palette is born!

Back in July of last year I shared this seaside palette with you and you all seemed to really enjoy it! I happen to think that it's a really fun palette for Spring or Summer and a perfect palette to use for a beach setting or nautical-inspired wedding!

{Color Tip: Pairing a deep color like Navy Blue with a bright color like Yellow really creates a striking balance. Want to create a palette with punch? Choose opposite colors on the color wheel.}

we're definitely using this palette in our july wedding. (maybe more of a white, navy, and /soft/ yellow). i haven't seen a ton of examples online- thanks for the links! we're not doing much in terms of a nautical theme, but definitely like the preppy idea!
