A Classic Winter Wedding in South Carolina

What happens when you say "I do," surrounded by your closest friends and family? In the most classic Southern setting? All kinds of sweetness. That's what! With coordination and design by Meagan Warren Weddings and lush florals by Fern Studio Floral and Event Design, today's real wedding captured by Landon Jacob Productions is the stuff that wedding dreams are made of, you guys!

It was a winter garden wedding: romantic, formal and elegant and so very classic. Ashton and Shaw were married in the bride's hometown church  — Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where her parents married.

The 165-person reception was held at historic 1208 Washington Place (a renovated 1920s bank vault), in the heart of downtown Columbia, South Carolina. The colors were mostly neutrals including: whites, creams, ivories, champagnes, with hints of blush accented with beautiful soft emerald and forest green garden greenery.

Ashton wore a Hayley Paige dress with a tiered skirt and belt, which she purchased from Hayden Olivia Bridal in Charlotte, NC. For the formal, church service, she wore an off-the-shoulder lace bolero, which she later removed for the reception.

She carried a hand-tied bouquet, full and lush to compliment her strapless sweetheart gown. Fern Studio incorporated lace from Ashton's mother's wedding gown to wrap the stems of the bouquet.

The bridesmaids carried similar hand-tied bouquets with ribbon streamers to compliment the maids’ light neutral, long dresses. The groomsmen adorned boutonnieres of a white classic ranunculus to compliment their classic, black tuxes.

At the reception, guests dined on a fun twist of the Southern fair: flank steak and fried brussel sprouts, fried green tomato napoleon, and pulled pork and pimento cheese paninis on jalapeño cornbread.

The bride's most favorite food is a Rush's Cheeseburger, so we served guests a late-night snack... Rush's Cheeseburgers right in the original wrappers!

One of the many highlights of the 1920s venue is the elaborate 8-foot mantle in the library. This was the perfect backdrop for Ashton and Shaw's wedding cake. A Classic Winter Wedding in South Carolina A Classic Winter Wedding in South Carolina
Ashton had mentioned early in the planning process, that she wanted an 'obscene' amount of flowers on that mantle ... and that's certainly what she got!

The mantle was adorned with a full and lush garland of greenery, floral blooms and an abundance of candlelight. The ivory fondant-covered cake was accented with a Swiss-dot impression and pearl borders.

Tables were dressed in blush plaster linens from Nuage Designs, and Fern Studio added wispy greenery, floral compotes, votives with glass stemware and petite pillar candles and gold votives throughout.

Behind each bar, was an oversized 7-foot mirror, which was calligraphed by hand with all of the cocktail offerings. A Classic Winter Wedding in South Carolina A Classic Winter Wedding in South Carolina

Bonnie Brunt Cakes emulated Ashton's belt onto the middle tier of the cake, with gold banding and three-dimensional flowers. Fern Studio added the fresh florals to the cake - all placed on a mirrored table.
