{Eco-Friendly Elegance}: A Palette of Dusty Aqua, Latte & Ivory

{Aqua, Latte, Ivory}

Recently I was approached by local Atlanta area wedding planner, Ashley Baber of Ashley Baber Weddings who asked if I'd be interested in collaborating together on an idea board that combined the idea of having an floral themed wedding without the use of actual flowers. She explained that her goal was to put together an eco-friendly design that still evoked elegance and beauty. So off to the drawing board I went and here is our design!

Using sustainable eco-friendly fabric is a huge trend in the fashion world right now, and wedding fashion is no exception. Materials like organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, and soy blend fabric have a lower impact on the environment than traditional formal wear fabric, and they look and feel just as great – if not better! For our design, I incorporated a gown from Morgan Boszilkov's natural bridal collection as well as corsages and boutonnieres made from eco-friendly fabrics.

Fabric Floral Corsage & Fabric Floral Headpiece

For bouquets we loved the idea of balsa wood bouquets. Unique, eco-friendly and easy to preserve, Balsa wood bouquets are handmade and use ecologically sustainable timber that never wilts, dies or fades. They look absolutely gorgeous, and what's best is that they can be saved as a keepsake for years to come! Some of the others ideas we had for this wedding included the large paper floral centerpieces that stand out to make such a elegant statement, the conflict-free diamond ring, and the tree-free stationery invitation suite. Oh, and if you're looking for an eco-friendly way to make an exit from your wedding, why not consider riding your bicycle?
