{Under the Treetops}: Fern, Latte, Camel & Ivory

September 29, 2009

{Fern, Latte, Camel & Ivory}

What better way to say 'i do' than under a beautiful old tree. Timeless, romantic, and completely classic, this beautiful ceremony has all of the makings of a charming & memorable wedding day. Bridesmaids were dressed in gorgeous, strapless fern colored dresses that were truly beautiful. But no one could outshine the beautiful bride who wore a vintage lace gown. Some of my favorite items in this board include the family style dinner that was served at reception & the long tables where guests were seated. Check out the incredible view & that gorgeous sunset! Various handmade items were incorporated into their special day- like that beautiful ring pillow and that gorgeous pearl necklace. {continued...}

{Crazy for Copper}: A Palette of Copper, Gold, Chocolate Brown, Ivory

September 28, 2009

{Copper, Gold, Chocolate Brown, Ivory}

Copper has long been one of my favorite colors... There is just something special about copper- especially when used as the primary color in a Fall wedding. For this bride, my goal was simple. I wanted to create a Fall palette that was a little unique. To do this I started with copper. To add a little depth I decided to blend in some gold and some chocolate brown. And to keep this palette light and airy I used a considerable amount of ivory. {continued...}

I think the incorporation of ivory makes this palette really nice. Some of my favorite items in this board included the gorgeous vine leaf napkin holders & that gorgeous handmade belt. What a fun accessory to add to your wedding gown! I imagined this wedding to take place somewhere rustic- like an old barn. The ladies wore copper gowns and the groomsmen were coordinated in copper ties. Guests went home with a sweet thank you from the newlyweds and a decadent chocolate cupcake!

{Howdy Partner}: Shades of Blue & Brown

September 23, 2009

{Slate Blue & Latte}

Slate blue and latte make quite the team, wouldn't you agree? This palette was made especially for bride-to-be, Kyla, who wrote to me with a Western wedding theme in mind. She said she wanted to have some country elements incorporated but did not know exactly which way to go when it came to figuring out a color palette. The answer was simple I told her....Go with this lovely combination of latte & slate blue. {continued...}

Rustic Signage

For her wedding, I imagined the ladies would look darling in blue knee length dresses. And to compliment, what better way to add some country to your attire than to step out in style with a pair of authenic cowboy boots! I imagined that the wedding could take place in a log cabin chapel with an outdoor reception to follow. Special attention would be paid to place settings & blue bandana accents would be incorporated. In lieu of wedding cake, smores would be served! Oh and who doesn't love that invite design by Momental Designs?

{A Winter Bride}: Red & Shades of Gray

September 17, 2009

{Red & Shades of Gray}

There is no denying my love for this pretty little palette. Especially beautiful when used in Winter weddings, red & shades of gray really are something special. For Michelle, my goal was simple...to create a Winter wedding that had elements of fun & elegance. To start, I chose a charming image of a red barn blanketed by snow. Doesn't that just look cozy? I imagined that it would be such a nice place for a ceremony or a reception. {continued...}

Providing that they had access to some good working heaters! Moving forward, I decided that the bridesmaids would look absolutely beautiful in slate gray dresses. To complete their assemble, I chose fun jewelry & had each bridesmaid carry a bouquet of red roses. The contrast, in my opinion, is just so eye catching! To add some personality to their day, I decided that it would be nice to let each bridesmaid wear any red shoe of their choice. While the groomsmen wore red converse! Additionally, a soda pop display was set up complete with color coordinating straws! Some additional accessories like the bridal swarovski crystal headband & the quirky bird motif made this wedding stand out as unique.
