Happy Weekend! Inspiration Board # 254: Red + Black

{Red, Black & White}

Although red combined with black and white is far from being a new and unique color palette, there really is no denying that there are so many fun ways to bring this palette to life. For this palette, it was my goal to bring to life Jessica's wedding. A day full of bright bold color and fun little details. Jessica's email to me was full of great ideas. She said she wanted her wedding to feel laid back & casual...nothing stuffy or elegant she said. In my design, ladies were dressed in candy red dresses that each had a unique neckline. This subtle difference really made for a fun & unexpected bridal party look. {continued...}

Thank You Bags + Pomegranate Placecards

Save the dates were designed in a unique font that really popped. This same font could be seen throughout the day on programs and dinner menus. Guests went home with candy apples that were creatively packaged in brown paper bags. Each bag had a red label which made for incredibly charming packaging. As the party came to an end... the bride & groom drove away in a little vintage get-a-way car.

Key Lime Cupcakes

She told me she was hoping to create a very quaint atmosphere full of fun touches that come across as both special and charming. In my design, I dressed the bridesmaids in lime green gowns that had a sort of casual elegance to them. Other special touches included the aqua toile invitation design, the speciality blue china as well as the lovely centerpiece vases. In lieu of the traditional wedding cake, guests were treated to key lime cupcakes. This proved to be an incredible crowd pleaser. When it was time to say their goodbyes, the newlyweds sped away in an aqua marine vintage car that had a sign attached to the back that read "Just Married."

{Typing the Knot}: Navy Blue + Linen

{Navy Blue & Linen}

Lately I've really been loving the color navy blue. Especially when paired with white. In this design, my goal was to bring to life Marie's seaside wedding. Navy blue bridesmaids dresses, a little seaside chapel & creative invitations all work together seamlessly in a way that speaks to the nautical theme. The bride wore a stunning gown made entirely of vintage lace along with a pair of incredible blue heels that were accented with silver broaches. Fun patterns like gingham, toile & florals all play off of one another in a way that comes across as both charming & unexpected. {continued...}

{Down by the Boardwalk}: Shades of Blue + Pink

{Slate Blue, Powder Blue, Sky Blue, Light Pink + Blush Pink}

Pink and blue are colors that you may not expect to see with one another. Especially in a wedding. But I think that when incorporated into a summer wedding with the theme of a beach boardwalk, the combination really fits. Fun & quirky...pink & blue is definitely a palette that works best in fun patterns. Michelle, a bride-to-be from Santa Cruz, recently wrote to me and told me all about the summer wedding she was planning. With a theme of beach boardwalk + an overall goal of communicating a fun & laid back vibe. {continued...}

A little whimsy+ Bubble Gum Chewing Bride

Michelle had only one request- That her bridesmaids wear a light shade of blue. In my design, ladies wore tea length blue gowns that were accented with a blue sash. Pink heels gave the attire a fun pop of color while bouquets and centerpieces were designed with the same shade. The wedding took place out on the beach with a backdrop of carnival rides. For additional fun, in lieu of a candy buffet, guests were treated to specialty popcorn buffet. And in lieu of a wedding cake, guests dined on tasty cupcakes. This proved to be the perfect combination of salty & sweet. As the wedding came to an end....the couple drove away at sunset in a convertible with the top down.Align Center
