Inspiration Board # 106: Light Pink & Gold

February 27, 2009

{Light Pink & Gold}

When Maureen wrote to me and told me all about the spring wedding she was planning with a palette of blush pink, gold, and ivory...I was really excited to get to work on this one. You see, by nature I'm more of a vibrant color kind of person so its always fun to step outside my box and do a soft, pretty palette. Maureen told me that she wanted her wedding to be soft, romantic, elegant, classically beautiful and also have a vintage feel to it. In my design, I tried to bring all of Maureen's ideas to life by not only keeping the palette very soft but also included some details that really gave

her wedding the WOW factor. A shimmery crystal draped tree was centrally located at the buffet table and was the talk of Maureen's wedding. Touches like this really made the wedding feel very elegant and luxurious. In addition, lovely soft pink roses & pink peonies were used for the florals and beautiful antique gold urns were used to hold centerpieces. Guests went home with a little pink box with sweet goodies inside & a sweet thank you note from the bride & groom.

{A Midsummer Night's Dream}: Fuchsia, Apple Green, Ivory & Gold

February 26, 2009

{Fuchsia, Apple Green, Ivory & Gold}

When I got Brenda's request to design something that had the theme of a Midsummer Night's Dream...I was seriously excited to get to work. Shades of pink, greens, blues, golds & even champagne were used in my design for Brenda. This design is definitely all about fantasy & whimsy. For favors guests go home with beautiful dream catchers as guest favors and when the reception is coming to a close... 100s of exotic butterflies are released.

{Aviation I Do's}: Cranberry, Fuchsia, Pink + Slate Gray

{Cranberry, Fuchsia, Pink +; Slate Gray}

When I got the request to design a wedding that was maroon & fuchsia that incorporated an art deco aviation theme. I have to say that I really was worried how this one would turn out. You see, her reception is being held at a flight museum so its definitely a fitting theme. In any case, off to the drawing board I went... And the result? A beautiful palette with some subtle aviation references. {continued...}

For my design, I gave her bridal party beautiful fuchsia attire. Lots of lace was used to give the palette a soft & romantic feel & candles were used on every surface imaginable. In lieu of table numbers, each table displayed a different art deco plane image. The groomsmen wore cuff links that had a plane motif engraved. Guests went home with aviation themed favors and a special thank you from the bride and groom.

Inspiration Board # 103: Light Pink, Latte & Light Green

When Steph wrote to me about the pretty palette she was planning I was excited to help bring her vision to life. Steph told me that she was planning a seaside wedding in

June and that she lacked all creative abilities. Perfect Palette to the rescue!!!! She told me she had picked out brown linens and that her bridesmaids would likely wear brown. She also said that she was thinking of either blue or green as her accent color ...with some pinks in the flowers to soften things up and to make the brown less harsh for the summer. She admitted that she was worried that the brown would be too harsh for a summer wedding. In my design, I used a brown color but rather a latte brown than a chocolate brown. This really softened the overall look. Pink peonies were used in centerpieces as well as the bouquets and for invitations I chose a soft green color. For table linens, instead of going with a brown like she had planned-I chose champagne because it was more fitting for summer. Guests went home with beach themed favors and a beautiful quote that the bride & groom chose to thank their guests with.
