Pink and blue are colors that you may not expect to see with one another. Especially in a wedding. But I think that when incorporated into a summer wedding with the theme of a beach boardwalk, the combination really fits. Fun & quirky...pink & blue is definitely a palette that works best in fun patterns. Michelle, a bride-to-be from Santa Cruz, recently wrote to me and told me all about the summer wedding she was planning. A little whimsy+ Bubble Gum Chewing Bride

Michelle had only one request- That her bridesmaids wear a light shade of blue. In my design, ladies wore tea length blue gowns that were accented with a blue sash. Pink heels gave the attire a fun pop of color while bouquets and centerpieces were designed with the same shade. The wedding took place out on the beach with a backdrop of carnival rides. For additional fun, in lieu of a candy buffet, guests were treated to specialty popcorn buffet. And in lieu of a wedding cake, guests dined on tasty cupcakes. This proved to be the perfect combination of salty & sweet. As the wedding came to an end....the couple drove away at sunset in a convertible with the top down.
