{Saying Yes to the Dress}

{Saying Yes to the Dress}

I never thought that saying 'yes to the dress' would ever be a difficult thing for me.

And although my dress shopping experience was a good one, when it came down to deciding which dress was 'the dress'... I never knew that I would have such a tough time committing.

You see... there wasnt multiple dresses that I found that could be 'the one'.
Really there was just one. It was absolutely gorgeous & I felt really really pretty in it.

It had a bodice that I was absolutely in love with.... And the crystals, oh the crystals!!! They were so sparkly and the train on this dress was to die for.

The embellishments were perfect and every time I tried the dress on I felt like an absolute princess.

Each time I would try it on, all of the ladies in the boutique would stop what they were doing and say things like "oooooo" and "awwwwww" which made me feel really good & really special.

It had everything I was looking for. It was A-line, it was made of the most amazing organza material, the crystals sparkled like crazy...but there was one catch. There was something about this dress that I did not expect to love.

This dress had a pick up skirt. You know those gatherings of fabric. And now, there I stood with the most beautiful dress on, and it had a pick up skirt. It wasnt that the pick up skirt wasnt pretty, to be honest it was absolutely gorgeous. It was just a mental thing.

The fact that I loved this dress was a little unexpected. I panicked because I knew that it was everything I was looking for...and yet it had this one thing that I was having trouble getting past. In the end, I decided to go out and try to find something that would make me forget 'the dress.' I went to boutique after boutique and tried on a million dresses, but still I could not stop thinking about 'my dress'. I could not forget the way it made me feel.
~
In the end, I realized that there was not going to be any other dress that could compare. And ultimately I could not bare to walk down the aisle to Brad in any other dress. So I did it! I said 'Yes to the Dress' and I could not be happier!

And to think that I was not even going to try that dress on in the first place.

Just because I had a mental hang up. Now, I absolutely love the pick up skirt and I'm very thankful that my sister urged me to 'just try it on'

It just goes to show that if you are a bride who is still on the hunt for the perfect dress... it pays to try on all kinds of styles! You'll be suprised what you fall in love with.♥

wow, it's beautiful!! I know how stressful it can be with picking out the dress. I am so indecisive and I always second guess myself. I actually bought one and then 2 months before the wedding I got another one. I'm horrible but I was much happier! Can't wait to see pictures of you in it!

Your dress is GORGEOUS!! I had the same problem- I wanted to try to "forget the dress" and look at others, but I couldn't stop thinking about that "one" and I ended up going back and getting it. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage, I just got married in September and loved every second of planning it (well.. almost... the guest seating arrangements was probably where the hubs and I fought the most.. haha) but I look forward to all of your posts updating us on your wedding planning status! I get to live vicariously through you and get all the fun stuff again!

Im so excited it's my first dress shopping trip! Now for some advice...was this the first dress you tried on? I have a dress I think could be the one but I wonder if I should try it on first or 2nd?
