{Love is Sweet}: Navy Blue, Slate Gray & Yellow

{Navy Blue, Slate Gray and Yellow}

When I received Megan's request I thought to myself.... Oh what a lovely color palette! She shared a few details with me about their special day that I thought were both charming and unique. She said that they were planning to get married in a lovely historic home and that they had talked about incorporating books and mason jars into the decor. She also added that they want the overall look to feel pretty casual, even though it will be in a rather stately home. In my design for Megan and her fiance, I brought together a few of her ideas and a few of my own. {continued...}

Cake Design + Groomsmen Vest

Books were incorporated into centerpieces as were mason jars. Inside of the mason jars I added lovely ivory votive candles. These jars were placed on top of the books, and even hung in trees outside of the reception space. The flickering candlelight really added both ambiance and charm to their space. The groomsmen wore unique navy blue vest and the bridesmaids wore a lovely shade of gray. Bridesmaids carried bright yellow bouquets that were wrapped in navy blue ribbon. Guests went home with homemade jars of honey and a sweet thank you from the newlyweds.

Could these colors work for a winter wedding? Maybe changing the grey to silver?
