Inspiration Board # 169: White House Black Market

March 24, 2009

{Black & White}

k & white go together so effortlessly now don't they? Chic, classic, edgy, modern. This design screams sophistication. Both easy to pull off and easy on the eyes, this monochromatic palette is simply divine. In her email, Alicia told me that she wanted her wedding to look like a page out of the white house black market catalog. Romantic & fun, yet still classically beautiful. In my design, I gave Alicia's bridesmaids beautiful designer black dresses inspired by Jackie O. Each girl wore a strand of lovely pearls and carried bouquets of white blooms. To add interest, different patterns were used throughout the wedding. Stripes, toile and even a little touch of damask..The combination created unexpected touches that guests definitely appreciated. Place settings were paid special attention and were accented with a single flower. To thank their guests little paper bags that had the couples monogram were set out on a cookie bar that featured the bride and grooms favorite marriage of foods. Oreo cookies and milk!
